Roadrunners Get 10-Point Neutral Site Win Against Piedmont International


MARIETTA, Ga. – The Roadrunners extended their win streak to six with a 74-64 win over Piedmont International (N.C.) on the final day of the Sock Fancy Classic at The Eagles' Nest in Marietta on Saturday afternoon.
 
THE REST OF THE STORY
Dalton State (Ga.) improves to (6-0 overall) with the win, while Piedmont International (N.C.) falls to (0-4 overall) with the loss. Redshirt senior Jordan Young notched another double-double with 17 points and 11 boards. He completed the stat line with three assists, three blocks, and one steal.
 
Four other Roadrunners scored in double-figures with C.J. Perry accounting for 14 points with four treys and Kevon Tucker adding 13 and five rebounds. Rodley Adjei and Randy Bell had 10 points each with Adjei dishing out four dimes.
 
Tamir Glenn led PIU with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Jacob Glenn and Curtis Coleman Jr. contributed 13 points apiece with Cook adding five rebounds and Coleman four.
 
BY THE NUMBERS
The rebounding edge went to the Bruins 40-35, but the Roadrunners got the advantage in bench points 18-14. Dalton State shot 40.3% (25-for-62) from the field and held Piedmont International to 38.9% (21-fo-54).
 
UP NEXT
Dalton State will be back in the friendly confines of Mashburn Arena in five days on Thursday, November 21 when they open Southern States Athletic Conference play against Faulkner (Ala.). Tip-Off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
