(RV) Roadrunners Get Road Victory At Sewanee


SEWANEE, Tenn. – (RV) Dalton State is now unbeaten in their last 10 contest after defeating the Sewanee Tigers 6-0 in non-conference action in Sewanee, Tenn. on Tuesday night.
 
THE FIRST HALF
Senior Tom Bentham got the Roadrunners on the board first in the 19' when Amin Saheb Ettabaa found him in front of the net for a 1-0 lead. The Birds tacked on another score before the half when Justin Reischer connected on a ball that knocked off the post to go up 2-0 in the 32'. The 2-0 score held steady as the teams entered the break.
 
THE SECOND HALF
The Roadrunner offense kicked it up another notch coming out of halftime as Kevin Villatoro connected with Taeylor Fisch in the 46' to increase the lead to three at 3-0. Less than three minutes later, Ettabaa found the back of the net for the first of his two goals to push the lead to four.
 
Ettabaa added his second goal of the night in the 51' for a 5-0 Roadrunner lead. The last score of the evening came off the boot of Giovanni de Souza in the 88' with an assist from Matheus Fineto Gamileira as Dalton State ran their unbeaten streak to 10 games with a 6-0 win.
 
THE REST OF THE STORY
(RV) Dalton State (Ga.) improves to (9-1-1, 1-0 SSAC) with the win, while Sewanee (Tenn.) drops to (6-2-1, 1-0 SAA) with the win. Amin Saheb Ettabaa led the Roadrunners with two goals and one assist on the night, with Tom Bentham, Taeylor Fisch, Justin Reischer, and Giovanna de Souza adding scores.
 
Kevin Villatoro and Matheus Fineto Gamileira notched assist, while Aaron Fraire was untested thanks in part to the Roadrunner defense. It is Fraire's sixth clean sheet of the season.
 
It was all Dalton State from the start as they outshot the Tigers 21-7 overall and 14-0 on goal. Sewanee did have the advantage in corner kicks, 4-3.
 
UP NEXT
Dalton State will hit the pitch again on Saturday, October 5 when they travel to Montgomery, Ala. for a key SSAC matchup with Faulkner (Ala.). Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. (CT).
