LSUA Gives Roadrunners First Loss Of The Season

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – It was an aggressive game that included a total of 5 yellow cards and one goal from a penalty kick. Although the gritty Roadrunners put up a tough defense, in the end they lost their first match of the season 1-0 to the LSUA Generals (La.) in the Georgia Gwinnett Tournament in Lawrenceville on Saturday evening.

FIRST HALF
Both teams went back and forth in the first half, keeping much of the action in the midfield. The Roadrunners out shot LSUA 7-4 in the period. The Generals picked up a yellow card at the 19', followed by senior Tyler Hudson receiving his yellow card at the 28' for the Roadrunners. Dalton State would have their chances to score in the first period of play, but could not find the back of the net. The teams would enter halftime tied at 0-0.

SECOND HALF
Both teams played an aggressive second half with each team receiving a yellow card. LSUA forward Luiz Petribu scored the only goal of the game on a penalty kick in the 72'. The Roadrunners would press hard for the final 18 minutes of play, but struggled to hit the ball on target.
