Roadrunners Suffer Third Straight Conference Loss

TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla. - Dalton State would score the first goal of the match, but the Florida College attack would be too much down the stretch as the Falcons defeated the Roadrunners 4-2 in SSAC action in Temple Terrace, Fla. on Thursday night.

THE FIRST HALF
Both teams would come out looking to take the early advantage. Florida College would take the opening possession and fly down the field looking for an early goal only to miss the shot wide. Dalton State would take it down the pitch from there and get a corner kick. The ensuing shot from Isael Gutierrez would miss high.

The squads would settle in from there and play a defensive slugfest. Amin Saheb Ettabaa would get a good look at goal in the 27' but he too would miss high. The remainder of the first half would be played in the mid-field area as the teams would go into halftime tied at 0-0.

THE SECOND HALF
The Roadrunners would get on the board first. A foul in the box would setup a penalty kick that junior Daniel Valenciano knocked home for a 1-0 lead in the 50'. Florida College would answer back in the 66' when Connor Nixon found the back of the net to equal the score at 1-1. The tie would be short lived as Davinson Mera broke the tie with a goal 1 1/2 minutes later on an assist from Groutchov Pierre.

In all, Florida College would reel off four unanswered goals, adding points to the scoreboard in the 85' and 87' to go up 4-1. Daniel Valenciano would net his second goal of the evening before the buzzer sounded, but it would not be enough as Florida College held on for a 4-2 win.
