Dalton State Hosting SSAC Cheer Championships On Saturday

DALTON, Ga. - Dalton State will host the 2017 Southern States Cheer & Dance Championships on Saturday, January 28 at 12:00 p.m. in Bandy Gym.

Teams scheduled to compete in the inaugural event will be Martin Methodist College, the defending NAIA Cheer Invitational National Champions, Brenau University, Loyola University, University of Mobile and Dalton State.

The program will begin with team warm-ups at 12:00 p.m., the competition will start at 1:00 p.m. with each team getting 2 minutes and 15 seconds to complete their routine.

Following the team competition, individual All-Conference performances will take place, with three competitors from each team individually showing the judges their skills.

Awards will follow at 3:30 p.m. with the awarding of All-Conference performers, SSAC Cheer Champions and SSAC Dance Champions.
