Roadrunner Women Drop Tough Game At Milligan

ELIZABETHTON, Tn. - Dalton State women's soccer team scored two goals midway through the second half, but couldn't hold off a late charge from Milligan College and suffer their second loss of the year 3-2. Freshman Adriana Romera scored both Dalton State goals on the evening. Romera's first goal of the night came in the 51st minute on an assist from Rocio Carrizales. The Freshman's second goal came ten minutes later in the 61st minute on a great setup from Alejandra Salaises.

The Lady Roadrunners battled tough to the end, but the Buffaloes were just too much in the waning minutes. Dalton State had a chance with 1:09 left when Serena Delgado fired a shot on goal that was saved by Buffalo keeper Charlotte Stephens.

Dalton State drops to 3-2-1 on the young season. The next women's soccer match is scheduled for Sunday, September 18th when the Roadrunners host Oakwood University from Huntsville, AL. It will be part of a double header with the men's team playing at 1:00 p.m., followed by the women's team at 3:00 p.m.
