Seven Heaven: Legnedahl Leads Lady Roadrunners in 15-0 Rout


CUTHBERT, Ga. – Dalton State delivered an offensive showcase Thursday afternoon, defeating Andrew College 15-0 in Cuthbert. Alice Legnedahl led the Roadrunners with seven goals, while Peyton Daniel recorded a hat trick as Dalton State scored seven times in the opening half and added eight goals after the break.
 
FIRST HALF
Dalton State wasted little time taking control as Amy Wearing opened the scoring just one minute into the match. Alice Legnedahl doubled the advantage at the 3:10 mark before adding four more first-half goals at 17:15, 19:15, 21:00 and 27:00. Carol Anne Giannamore-Strickland assisted Legnedahl's third goal, while Lexi Lyon supplied the assist on her fourth.
 
Peyton Daniel closed the opening-half scoring in the 40th minute, giving the Roadrunners a 7-0 lead at intermission. Dalton State controlled the opening 45 minutes with 29 shots and eight corner kicks, while Andrew College produced one shot.
 
SECOND HALF
The Roadrunners continued their attack immediately after halftime. Alice Legnedahl completed her seven-goal performance at 46:35 off an assist from Lexi Lyon, and Amy Wearing followed with her second goal of the match at 53:30.
 
Miah Bult scored twice, finding the net at 57:10 and 61:30. Between those goals, Carol Anne Giannamore-Strickland converted an assist from Amy Wearing at 59:35, and Alice Legnedahl scored her final goal at 60:10.
 
Peyton Daniel completed her hat trick with goals at 72:15 and 82:50, accounting for the final two scores of the 15-0 victory. Dalton State's defense did not allow a second-half shot, while goalkeepers Maggie Rickerd and Kamryn Martinez combined for the shutout.
