Lady Roadrunners Advance To Semi-Finals

Box Score
DALTON, Ga. - The Dalton State women's soccer team advanced to the semi-finals of the Southern States Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Championship after a 2-1 overtime win over Bethel on Friday night at Lakeshore Soccer Complex.

The Roadrunners improve to 9-6-1 on the year, while Bethel ends its season 4-11-3.

The first half was a defensive stalemate.  Both teams would have opportunities, but neither could capitalize.  The first score of the game came in the 59th minute when Natani Tomlinson-Trail connected on a free kick from 25 yards out.

Excitement came in the 83rd minute when Jordan Bernard was tripped in the box setting up a penalty kick.  Rosie Lindo would find the back of the net to tie the game at 1-1.  Both defenses would hold for the remaining 7 minutes to send the game into overtime.

Overtime would be short lived as Dalton State went on the attack early.  Jordan Bernard would pounce on a rebound 2 minutes in for the golden goal and the win.

The fourth-seeded Lady Roadrunners will travel to Montgomery, AL for a semi-final matchup with number one seed and #5-ranked Mobile on Wednesday, November 9.
