Women's Volleyball Drops First Match In Pool Play

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Dalton State volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to #2-seed Bethel in the first match of pool play in the SSAC Volleyball Championships at the Cramton Bowl Multiplex in Montgomery, AL on Thursday.

The Lady Roadrunners drop to 11-17 on the year, while Bethel improves to 25-6. Dalton State was out-hit in the match .303-.085 and had only 21 kills compared to 44 for Bethel.

The Lady Birds were led in kills by Olivia Keegan with 6. Grace Hardin add 4 kills in the DS effort. The ever dangerous Anna Metzler was held in check by the Lady Wildcat defense, totaling only 4 kills.

Casey Cox led the offense with 7 assist, while Clarissa Weber contributed 5 to go along with 8 digs.

The Lady Roadrunners will be in action again tomorrow, November 11 when they take on Coastal Georgia at 11 a.m., and Loyola (La.) at 4 p.m.
