Box Score Roadrunners defeat Erskine, 68-49Â
 Due West, SC – The Dalton State Roadrunners (20-2, 10-2 SSAC) defeated Erskine College (9-15) from NCAA Division II and the Coastal Carolinas Conference Monday night, 68-49, at the Belk Arena.
Jamaine Burrey led the Roadrunners, scoring 14 points and pulling down five rebounds with only 14 minutes of playing time.
Sean Tate scored 12 points.
Jordan Bowling played 19 minutes, but managed nine points and eight rebounds.
Ladaris Green and
Preston Earle each shot five points. Green dominated the board with 14 rebounds.
Dylan Smith scored seven.
Anthony Hilliard and
Deshawn Ruffin each added six points.
Nelson Smith led Erskine with ten points. Ray lock had nine points and eight rebounds for the Flying Fleet. Maurice Daniels added eight points and five rebounds. Â
Dalton State out rebounded Erskine 44 to 37. The Roadrunners were 41.1% from the field and 23.3% from three points out.
"It was great watching us put two halves together where we executed well both offensively and defensively," said Roadrunner Coach Tony Ingle. "Winning three road games in six days is a credit to our leadership, experience and bench play. I could not be more proud of their tenacity."
Dalton State comes home for the next two games. They host the Knights of Middle Georgia State Thursday night at 7:30. Conference leaders Martin Methodist will invade Mashburn Arena Saturday night a 7:30.
