"Voorhees is a very talented team," said Dalton State Coach Tony Ingle. "I was proud of the way we kept our competitive drive and composure throughout the game. This was a huge win for our Roadrunners."
Zach Dean"Although we always stress team effort as a coach, I feel that without our freshman walk on from Ringgold High School handling tremendous defensive pressure we would have had a tough time winning that game."
Zach Dean, the 5'10" Salutatorian from Ringgold, also hit a big three point shot late in the game.
"Every player on the team had very timely contributions, but without
Jamaine Burrey's defense on Jeffrey Mack on a consistent basis we would find ourselves having a long bus ride home," said Ingle.
The Roadrunners had to play with late game foul troubles. "We will not win very many games with
Deshawn Ruffin and
Jordan Bowling fouling out and
Marcel Hawkins playing the last seven minutes of the game with four fouls," added Ingle.
Bowling and Hawkins finished the night with 20 points and 11 rebounds each. Burrey added 16 points and nine rebounds.
