McKenzie, TN. – Bethel defeated the Dalton State volleyball team in straight sets Friday afternoon at Crisp Arena, but the match was anything but a given for the host Wildcats.

The Roadrunners scored the first six points of the first set, but a 9-0 run allowed the Wildcats to come back and take the lead at 13-12. Bethel never trailed again on their way to the 25-18 set win. Dalton State jumped out to a 15-4 lead in the second set before the Wildcats rallied to win the game, 25-23.  
 
Bethel pulled out to an early 7-1 lead in the third set, but the Roadrunners never gave up. Dalton State earned the first set lead at 18-17. The Roadrunners went ahead 20-18, but the Wildcats came back to lead 24-22. DS tied the set at 24 before the hosts took the set 26-24 and the match in straight sets.

Dalton State (11-12 overall, 5-8 SSAC) now travels to Pulaski, TN. for a Saturday 1 p.m. EDT (12 noon CDT) conference match against Martin Methodist. Bethel (19-8, 10-3) will host Faulkner on Saturday.
