Tom Bentham joined the Dalton State soccer coaching staff in 2020 and enters his 5th season as a men's and women's assistant coach. Tom is from Bradford, England and has been in the US for 8 years.

PATH TO DALTON STATE
Bentham was a 2-year starter at Feather River College in California helping his side reach the Elite 8 of the CCCAA Championship.

After playing two years for Feather River he journeyed east to NCAA DII University of West Alabama.

Bentham arrived in Dalton from West Alabama for his senior season.
At Dalton State he was named SSAC Academic All-Conferenceas well as 2nd team All Conference. He finished his playing career captaining the Roadrunners in 2019 under current head coach, Saif Alsafeer.

He also worked as an assistant coach under Alsafeer for Dalton Redwolves U-23 in the USL-2. Bentham graduated with a degree in Health and Wellness in 2021.

TIME WITH THE ROADRUNNERS
In Spring 2021 the Roadrunners earned their highest ranking in school-history at that time, coming in at #5 on April 14, 2021 while also winning their first SSAC Regular Season Championship. In Fall of 2021, the women's squad made the SSAC Opening Round for the first time under Alsafeer's regime with Bentham playing a big role in getting them there.

In the years that followed, Bentham has been instrumental in helping the Birds reach greater heights, rising to #1 in the country in during the regular season in 2022, and 2023. The men have also qualified for four-straight NAIA Tournaments, reaching the Round of 8 on two occasions.
