Kristopher Ospina was hired as assistant soccer coach on May 13th, 2019. He came to Dalton State from Florida College after playing four years under Coach Saif Alsafeer. Kris assisted Coach Alsafeer for one year, after his sophomore year before returning to the pitch his junior and senior seasons. He graduated from Florida College with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 2019.

Opsina was a four-year starter at Florida College and captained the team his junior and senior seasons. In 2017, Kris was a part of a team that went undefeated during the regular season and fell just short of advancing to the USCAA National Tournament. Kris was named 1st team USCAA All-American in 2017 and 2nd team All-SSAC in 2018, the Falcons first in the NAIA. Ospina also played for the Tampa Mauraders of the UPSL for one year. Currently, Kris is playing for the Dalton Red Wolves U-23 team in USL League 2. During the offseason, he trained with USL Championship member Ottawa Fury at IMG Academy for one month.

Kris is from Hialeah, Fla.-, with Colombian heritage as both of his parents are from Medellin. He also spent time in Newnan, Ga. where he played club soccer for the Coweta Cannons.
