A native of Shelby, N.C., Mon'Darius Black is in his first year as a student assistant coach. He transferred to Dalton State from Catawba Valley Community College in 2016 and spent two seasons as a defensive stalwart for the Roadrunners.
At Catawba Valley, he was named 2nd team All-Conference and led the nation in steals. Black appeared in 56 games with 36 starts as a Roadrunner. In his final game he led Dalton State with 17 points and six rebounds in a near upset of #1-seed William Penn (Iowa).
Mon'Darius has four siblings, Jalen (21), Mon'Drevius (19), Diamond (16), and Cassidy (8).
He is a General Studies major with aspirations to teach 1st or 2nd grade students.
