Roadrunners Show Speed, Depth at Emory Dooley Elite

ATLANTA, Ga. - Dalton State women's track & field turned in a strong across-the-board performance at the Emory Dooley Elite, highlighted by a top-five relay finish, multiple top-10 individual marks, and steady progress across sprints, middle distance, distance, jumps and throws.
 
RELAYS LEAD THE WAY
Dalton State's 4x100-meter relay quartet of Ellie McGhee, Alexys Hines, Kylie Campbell and Kelsey Eubanks delivered one of the meet's best finishes for the Roadrunners, placing 4th overall with a time of 50.91. The group's clean exchanges and closing speed helped Dalton State secure a spot near the top of a competitive field.
 
The Roadrunners also put together a solid effort in the 4x400-meter relay, as Taylor Harris, Kylie Campbell, Kate Girard and Kelsey Eubanks teamed up for an 11th-place finish in 4:27.79, showcasing improving rhythm and depth on the back end of the meet.
 
SPRINTS: EUBANKS PACES THE GROUP
In the 100 meters, Kelsey Eubanks led Dalton State with an 11th-place finish in 12.82. She was followed by Ellie McGhee in 23rd (13.65) and Alexys Hines in 26th (13.81) as the Roadrunners gained valuable experience against a deep sprint field.
 
Eubanks doubled back in the 200 meters with another strong showing, placing 18th in 26.03. Dalton State's sprint group stacked multiple finishes in the event, with Hines taking 32nd (28.52), Kylie Campbell 35th (28.68), Taylor Harris 38th (29.46), and McGhee 39th (29.53).
 
MIDDLE DISTANCE: GIRARD AND HARRIS HIGHLIGHT 800m
Dalton State's middle-distance crew continued to trend upward in the 800 meters, led by Kate Girard, who finished 19th in 2:34.68. Taylor Harris followed with a 22nd-place run in 2:41.05, while Kylie Gray placed 23rd (2:44.88) and Madison Todd came in 24th (2:44.95).
 
DISTANCE EVENTS: GRAY AND PAEZ DELIVER STRONG RUNGS
In the 1,500 meters, Kylie Gray posted a strong performance to finish 19th in 5:08.46, continuing a productive meet across multiple events. Marlene Paez added another solid distance effort with a 27th-place finish in 5:26.70.
 
On the distance side as well, Gray and Paez produced key results in the 3,000 meters, with Gray placing 4th in 11:15.30 and Paez finishing 7th in 11:45.29, giving Dalton State a pair of top-seven performances.
 
STEEPLECHASE: TWO TOP-FIVE FINISHES
Dalton State's 3,000-meter steeplechase runners posted excellent results, led by Kate Girard, who placed 4th in 13:12.22. Madison Todd made it two Roadrunners in the top five, finishing 5th in 13:31.50.
 
FIELD EVENTS: HINES AND LANE POST TOP FINISHES
In the long jump, Alexys Hines recorded a mark of 4.86 meters (15'11.5"), earning 8th place to give the Roadrunners another top-eight finish.
 
In the throws, Emily Lane delivered one of the day's top field performances, placing 6th in the discus with a best of 38.06 meters (124'0"), continuing a strong stretch in the ring.
