No. 6 Roadrunners Finish One Shot Back At LTU Spring Break Invitational, McFadden Scores Another Individual Medalist Honor

OPELIKA, Ala. – No. 6 Dalton State left the LTU Spring Break Invitational with plenty to like and just one swing to lament. The Roadrunners set the pace with a field-best 281 (-7) in Round 1 and still led after 36 holes, but #22 Point (Ga.) edged ahead late as DS finished runner-up at +11 (875). Ben McFadden's third straight 71 capped a individual medalist honor at 213 (-3), while Tyler Latimer, John Brady Knight, and Joe Getley all packed a top-10.

ROUND 1
Dalton State burst out of the gates with a field-low 281 (-7) to take command after the opening round. John Brady Knight and Scott Frisby each carded 69s, while Ben McFadden added a steady 71 and Tyler Latimer turned in a 72. The scorching start staked the Roadrunners to a double-digit cushion heading into day two.
 
ROUND 2
The Roadrunners kept the lead with a 292 (+4) in the second round. McFadden stacked a second straight 71, Latimer matched with 71, and Joe Getley supplied a 72 to keep Dalton State in front going to the final 18.
 
ROUND 3
On the closing day, Dalton State posted a 302 (+14). McFadden completed a standout week with his third straight 71 to finish as the individual medalist at 213 (-3), but Point (Ga.) closed with an even-par 288 to slip past the Roadrunners by a single stroke. Dalton State finished runner-up at +11 (875), one back of Point's +10 (874).
