Dalton State Rolls Past ABAC, 102–83, Behind Barrion’s Perfect Night from Deep

DALTON, Ga. – Dalton State turned in a wire-to-wire, team-first performance, 31 assists on 39 made field goals, to cap a 102–83 home win over ABAC (Ga.) on Thursday night, improving to 19–8 (12–5) on the season.

Raylan Barrion shared game-high honors with 21 points and did not miss from three (5-for-5), while Qualen Pettus matched him with 21 and a game-best 7 rebounds in a balanced effort that saw 11 Roadrunners enter the scoring column.

RECAP
FIRST HALF
ABAC landed the first punch, up 7–3 at 17:46, but Dalton State quickly settled in behind Barrion's early threes and a burst from Pettus to take control. The hosts shot 54.3% from the floor and 44.4% from three in the opening twenty minutes, building a 52–37 halftime lead. Barrion led all scorers at the break with 14 points on a flawless 5-for-5 shooting line (4-for-4 3PT), Pettus added 15 and 6 boards, and Miles Ceballos sparked the bench with 10 first-half points.

SECOND HALF
Any ABAC push was met with timely answers: Barrion drilled another triple at 19:07, Omarion Smith hammered home a two-handed dunk at 17:59 off a Ja'Ron Briggs dime, and Kyoya Sasaki splashed a wing three at 13:26. Dalton State stretched the margin to a game-high 25 on Barrion's jumper with 2:29 to play, then closed it out with late buckets from Tyshan Kelley and steady bench production from Santonio McDaniel. ABAC's Dontae Smith hit a pair of late threes, but the outcome was never in doubt as DS took the second half 50–46.
