Roadrunners Control Early, Hold Off Oakwood (Ala.) For 77–67 Road Win

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Dalton State built a 19-point halftime cushion at Ashby Auditorium and kept Oakwood (Ala.) at arm's length down the stretch, closing out a 77–67 victory behind balanced scoring and a dominant night on the glass.

RECAP
FIRST HALF
The Roadrunners flipped a 2–0 start into a burst of pace and pressure, stringing together stops and buckets to seize a double-digit lead midway through the half.
Raylan Barrion sparked the surge with a pair of drives and a wing three, while Miles Ceballos delivered instant offense off the bench, hitting his first four shots, including a corner triple, to push Dalton State in front.

Omarion Smith owned the interior with nine first-half rebounds and multiple rim protections, and Dalton State closed the period shooting 58.1% from the field to take a 41–22 advantage into the break.

SECOND HALF
Oakwood answered with a more efficient second half behind Naftal Morara's mid-range touch and paint scoring, trimming the margin as the Ambassadors shot 54.3% after intermission.

Each time the hosts threatened, Dalton State had a counter: Barrion drilled a timely three, Smith hammered home dunks in traffic, and Qualen Pettus stacked tough jumpers to steady the Roadrunners.

Dalton State led by as many as 23 with 15:35 to play and, despite Oakwood's late push, closed it out at 77–67.
