Dalton State’s Wearing & Lyon Headline With SSAC Women’s Soccer Scholar-Athlete Team Recognition

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Dalton State's Amy Wearing and Lexi Lyon have been selected to the 2025 SSAC Women's Soccer Scholar-Athlete Team, highlighting the conference's annual academic honors announcement. The release also recognized the Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
 
Wearing, a midfield catalyst for the Lady Roadrunners, quarterbacked the attack with a team-high 17 assists while adding 4 goals for 25 points across 16 appearances (15 starts). She placed 22 of 38 shots on frame (57.9%), underscoring her efficiency in the final third. First-team All-SSAC and CSC All-District were among the other accomplishments she recorded this Fall.
 
Lyon powered the scoring front, leading Dalton State with 18 goals and 42 points, complemented by 6 assists over 15 appearances (14 starts). She delivered in decisive moments with 7 game-winners and put 36 of 59 shots on target (61%). Like Wearing, Lyon was an All-SSAC selection (2nd-team), and a CSC All-District honoree.

  • Diaz and Mills lead with a 4.0 GPA, followed by Gutierrez (3.95) and Kelm (3.88).
  • Every honoree also earned All-Conference recognition; Gutierrez was Newcomer of the Year, Pallas Padilla took Golden Gloves honors, and Mesa was SSAC Championship MVP.
  • Eligibility: student-athletes must be sophomores or above in academic and athletic standing, starters or key reserves, hold a 3.3+ cumulative GPA, and have competed in 50% of contests; graduate students and transfers must complete one semester at their current institution.
  • Dalton State highlights: Lyon led the Lady Roadrunners in goals (18) and game-winners (7), while Wearing led in assists (17)
