Dalton State Falls 1-0 At Point Despite Strong Second-Half Push

WEST POINT, Ga. — Dalton State women's soccer battled hard on the road but came up short in a 1-0 loss to Point (Ga.) on Sunday afternoon in West Point, Ga. Despite out-shooting the Skyhawks 13-3 and dominating possession in the second half, the Lady Roadrunners couldn't find the equalizer after conceding a first-half goal.

FIRST HALF
The opening 45 minutes were tightly contested, with both teams trading early chances. Dalton State's Aoife Saunders and Ria Cox tested the Point defense, but goalkeeper Lisa Kelm stood firm. The breakthrough for the came in the 31st minute when Point's Hailey Hull capitalized on a loose ball and scored unassisted to give the Skyhawks a 1-0 lead. The Roadrunners continued to press, earning two corner kicks late in the half, but went into the break trailing by one.
