Five Dalton State Golfers Receive More Honors For Outstanding Play

DALTON, Ga. – The accolades continue to roll in for Dalton State men's and women's golf after another pair of successful season as the programs placed five student-athletes on All-American lists as Jia Kataria and Sara Burger graced the Women's Golf Coaches Association list, and Jack Whaley, Ben McFadden, and Tyler Latimer doned the PING/Golf Coaches Association of America team.
 
Jia Kataria, a sophomore from New Delhi, India, earned First-Team WGCA All-American honors after one of the most dominant seasons in program history. Ranked No. 3 in the NAIA, Kataria posted an impressive 72.3 scoring average over 27 rounds, claiming four tournament wins, with five top-five and six top-10 finishes. Her consistent excellence across the season solidified her position as one of the elite collegiate golfers in the nation.
 
Joining Kataria is redshirt sophomore Sara Burger, who received Second-Team WGCA All-American recognition. A hometown standout from Dalton, Ga., Burger concluded the season ranked No. 23 in the NAIA with a 74.4 scoring average in 22 rounds played. She recorded one win, alongside three top-five finishes and three top-10s, capping off another strong campaign for the Roadrunners
 
Leading the trio of men is Jack Whaley, a sophomore from Doncaster, England, who was named a First-Team All-American. Whaley capped off a remarkable season by winning the 2025 NAIA Individual National Championship and finishing the year as the #1-ranked golfer in the NAIA. He posted a staggering 67.8 scoring average, captured five tournament victories, and placed inside the top three in all nine events he played—never finishing worse than third.
 
Joining Whaley on the All-American list are Third-Team selections Ben McFadden and Tyler Latimer. McFadden, a freshman from London, England, made an immediate impact in his debut season, compiling a 72.2 scoring average across 27 rounds, with two top-five finishes and five top-10s. Latimer, a junior from Canton, Georgia, delivered a steady and impressive campaign of his own, finishing with a 72.5 scoring average, three top-five finishes, and three top-10s in 27 rounds played.
