#11-ranked Dalton State Outruns Stallions For Conference Leading 12th Victory


DALTON, Ga. – #11 Dalton State returned to the winning track and rudely welcomed ABAC (Ga.) to Dalton for the Stallions' first visit as an SSAC member with a 104-69 win at Bandy Gym on Tuesday night.
 
RECAP
From the outset, the Roadrunners set a commanding pace against the Stallions, ending the first half with a comfortable 60-37 lead. Their dominance continued throughout the game, extending the lead to as many as 35 points in the closing moments.

Top scorer Matt Compas, dazzled the crowd with 22 points and 11 rebounds, showcasing his dual threat as a scorer and defender. Qualen Pettus also made significant contributions with 17 points and stellar defensive play, including 7 rebounds and 3 steals. The team's depth was fully displayed, with Omarion Smith and Antonio Lewis contributing on both ends of the court. Smith had 5 blocks and 2 steals, while Lewis added 15 points to the tally.
 
THE REST OF THE STORY
#11 Dalton State (Ga.) improves to (19-3 overall, 12-1 SSAC) with the win, while ABAC (Ga.) falls to (5-14 overall, 1-10 SSAC) with the loss. DS once again set a team record coming away with 13 total blocks in the win.

The #11-ranked Roadrunners hit the road for a rematch with the Stallions in Tifton on Thursday, February 6. Tip-Off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
