GREENWOOD, Ind. — Dalton State women's soccer student-athletes Amy Wearing and Lexi Lyon were named to the 2025–26 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team, which recognizes top student-athletes for combined performance on the field and in the classroom.
 
Wearing, a junior from Glasgow, Scotland, earned first-team Southern States Athletic Conference honors and holds a 3.45 GPA. She started 17 of 18 matches and finished with four goals and 17 assists for 25 points, including one game-winner. Wearing transferred to Dalton State from Grace College (Winona Lake, Ind.), where she totaled two goals and two assists in 2024 and two goals in 2023.
 
Lyon, a sophomore from Dalton, Ga., was a second-team All-SSAC selection and carries a 3.72 GPA. She recorded 18 goals and six assists for 42 points, with five game-winners, while starting 16 of 17 appearances. Her goal tally broke the single season record for a Lady Roadrunner.
 
Before joining the soccer program, Lyon competed for Dalton State in cross country and track and field, earning SSAC Cross Country All-Freshman honors in 2024 and third-team All-Conference in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the 2025 SSAC Track and Field Championships.
 
Established in 1952 and selected by College Sports Communicators, the Academic All-America program is the longest-running national award for athletic and academic success across NCAA Divisions I–III, the NAIA, two-year colleges and Canadian institutions. More than 44,000 individuals have earned the title of Academic All-America.
