#1 Dalton State Secures 2-0 Road Win Over Blue Mountain Christian Behind Misic’s Brace


BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. — Top-ranked Dalton State continued their dominant season with a hard-fought 2-0 victory over Blue Mountain Christian on Saturday afternoon in Blue Mountain, Miss. Junior forward Sergej Misic delivered both goals, lifting Dalton State to 7-1-2 overall and 2-1-1 in SSAC play.
 
FIRST HALF
Dalton State controlled possession early, firing 10 shots in the opening 45 minutes. Despite several saves from BMC goalkeeper Jesus Calvo, the Roadrunners broke through in the 43rd minute. Misic found the back of the net off a clever assist from Sohail Ebrahimi, giving Dalton State a 1-0 lead heading into halftime. The first half was physical, featuring five yellow cards and 12 combined fouls.
 
SECOND HALF
The second half saw fewer chances, but Dalton State stayed organized defensively. Goalkeeper Nestor Mendez recorded his fifth save of the match to preserve the lead. Misic sealed the win in the 87th minute with an unassisted strike, his second of the day. Blue Mountain Christian managed only two shots after the break as Dalton State's back line held firm.
