Matthew Hicks Promoted To SSAC Senior Associate Commissioner; Elected To NAIA-SIDA Board

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Southern States Athletic Conference announced the promotion of Matthew Hicks to Senior Associate Commissioner. Hicks has been with the conference since October 2016. He was also recently elected to serve on the NAIA-SIDA Board of Directors.

Matthew Hicks, Senior Associate Commissioner: "I would like to thank Commissioner Hall and the Board of Presidents for this promotion. Our coaches and student-athletes make this the best conference in the NAIA, and I'll keep looking for ways to further promote them and enhance our championship experience."

Hicks handles all of the league's athletics communications efforts for all sports and championships, runs all facets of the various awards processes and leads the league's marketing efforts
During his tenure, the league's social media followers have increased by 288% on Twitter, 5,849% on Facebook and 1,788% on Instagram
He has facilitated partnerships with HomeTown Ticketing, BoxOut, Hudl TV and SIDEARM
Hicks has also enhanced the league's trophy and awards offerings and helped expand the championship souvenir offerings
He previously won the NAIA's 2020-21 Clarence "Ike" Pearson Award for lifetime achievement

NAIA-SIDA Board

Hicks was selected to fill one of the At-Large Representative openings, where he will serve a two-year term
He will serve as the liaison to one of the NAIA-SIDA committees and will participate in monthly conference calls with board members
