#1 Roadrunners End Regular Season Undefeated With With Win Over Brewton-Parker (Ga.)


MOUNT VERNON, Ga. – #1 Dalton State closed out the regular season undefeated, coming away from Mount Vernon with a 3-1 win over Brewton-Parker (Ga.) on Saturday evening.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
FIRST HALF
  • (1-0 DS) DS: The first goal of the evening came in the 22' off the boot of Kazuma Ishizuka to give the Birds a 1-0 lead.
SECOND HALF
  • (2-0 DS) DS: DS padded the lead in the 63' when Antonio Bittencourt hit the nylon on an assist from Jesus Huitanda.
  • (3-0 DS) DS: Jack Brown and Iyan Windham connected on a goal in the 82' with Brown getting the score and Windham the assist.
  • (3-1 DS) BP: Francisco Martins got the goose egg off the board for the Barons with a goal in the 87'.
THE REST OF THE STORY
#1 Dalton State (Ga.) improves to (14-0-2 overall, 8-0-2 SSAC) on the season with the win, while Brewton-Parker (Ga.) falls to (1-15-1 overall, 0-9-0 SSAC) with the loss. Antonio Bittencourt gets his 5th goal of the season in the match with Kazuma Ishizuka getting his 4th and his 15th point of the year. Jack Brown nets goal number 2 in the match.
 
Jesus Huitanda collects his 4th assist with Iyan Windham getting his 1st. DS held a decisive shot advantage at 17-2 overall and 8-2 on frame. Nicolas Leite stopped the only shot he faced on the day.
 
UP NEXT
#1-ranked Dalton State will be the #2-seed in the upcoming SSAC Men's Soccer Championship based on point tally while being the only undefeated team in the conference. They will host their quarterfinal match at a date to be determined.
