HATTIESBURG, Miss. – #2 Dalton State showed their prowess in the final round of the Carey Collegiate Classic, coming from off the lead to claim the win at Canebrake Country Club in Hattiesburg, Miss. on Monday and Tuesday.
 
#2 Dalton State (Ga.) (894, +30) collected a 10-shot victory over 2^nd place #21 Texas Wesleyan (904, +40). #6 William Carey (Miss.), the host team, was one-shot back in 3^rd at (905, +41). #8 Cumberlands (Ky.) (915, +51) was 4^th, with #11 Loyola (La.) (916, +52) finishing out the top 5.

RECAP
ROUND 1
Sydney Hermann and Sara Burger stormed out of the box with rounds of 67 (-5) and 69 (-3) respectively as the team posted 293 (+5). Ella Cress shot 77 (+5), with Mailey Buzzell 80 (+8) as the final counter. Jia Kataria had a score of 82 (+10) as the 5^th Lady Roadrunner in the lineup, and Hanna Bullard scored an even-par 72 as an individual.
 
ROUND 2
Kataria put up a solid even-par 72 to count as the lead score for the first time in her brief college career. Hermann remained at the top of the leaderboard individually with a 73 (+1) as Burger stayed in the fray with a 3-over 75. Cress was the last counter for the round with an 80 (+8). Buzzell had the 5^th score with an 81 (+9) as Bullard posted 76 (+4) with the individual score.
 
ROUND 3
Hermann finished off an individual medalist honor with a 2-over 74 as DS carded a 300 (+12) round. Burger joined Hermann in the top 5 with a 3^rd place finish after a round of 1-over 73. Kataria made it back-to-back solid rounds with a 74 (+2) as Cress shot another 5-over 77 for the 4^th counter. Buzzell carded a 6-over 78, with Bullard finishing out with an 83 (+11).
