Women's Soccer Scores Big Road Win At Mobile


MOBILE, Ala. – Dalton State escaped The Jungle with a win as Emma Johnson scored early, and the Lady Roadrunner defense shut down the Rams en route to a 1-0 win over Mobile (Ala.) in a key SSAC women's soccer match in Mobile, Ala. on Thursday evening.
 
 HOW IT HAPPENED
 FIRST HALF 
  • (1-0 DS) DS: The lone score of the match came early as Ria Cox found Emma Johnson, who did the rest the first and only score of the match in the 3'.
SECOND HALF

THE REST OF THE STORY
Dalton State (Ga.) improves to (7-4-1 overall, 4-3 SSAC) with the win, while Mobile (Ala.) falls to (6-4-4 overall, 3-2-2 SSAC) with the loss. Brooke Alvarez was great in goal stopping all 5 shots she faced.
 
The Rams held the advantage in total shots at 15-10 and shots on frame (5-4), but DS tallied the match's only score. It's the second-straight victory for the Lady Birds at Mobile after coming up short on their previous three tries.

Another stout test is on tap for Dalton State as they travel to Hattiesburg, Miss. for a bout with #1 William Carey (Miss.). Kick-Off is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. (CT).
