#9 Roadrunners Upend #1 Rams


DALTON, Ga. – #9 Dalton State stayed hungry on offense, disciplined on defense and undefeated as they upended #1 Mobile (Ala.) 1-0 in Southern States Athletic Conference play at Dalton Stadium in Dalton on Friday night.

  • (1-0 DS) DS: Leonardo Seixas hit a beautiful free kick from 30 yards out that hit the crossbar and bounced directly down in front of a sprinting Josh Ramos who headed it into the net in the 69' for the lone goal of the match.
 THE REST OF THE STORY
#9 Dalton State (Ga.) improves (7-0-2 overall, 1-0-0 SSAC) with the win, while #1 Mobile (Ala.) falls to (6-1-1 overall, 1-1-0) with the loss. Josh Ramos scored his 2nd goal of the season while Michael Barrueta was rock solid in net with 3 key saves.
 
Mobile outshot the Roadrunners 9-5 overall in a defense heavy contest. The margin was closer in shots on goal with Mobile still carrying the advantage 3-2.

UP NEXT
Another tough contest is on tap next for the #9 Roadrunners as they host #15 William Carey (Miss.) at Dalton Stadium on Sunday, October 2. Kickoff between the Roadrunners and Crusaders is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
