Fall Schedule For Men's Golf Released

8/3/2022 3:00:00 PM

DALTON, Ga. - Dalton State Men's Golf Coach Ben Rickett released the Fall portion for the Roadrunners 2022-23 golf schedule on Wednesday. The Fall schedule features 4 events with the Birds visiting some familiar places.

"I'm excited to get started," said Ben Rickett, Dalton State men's golf coach. "Each season brings a different level of excitement and this one is no different!"

DS will travel to the Atlantic Coast on September 12 & 13 to begin the season at the Coastal Georgia Fall Invitational. The event will be held at a new course as the participants will tee it up at Sanctuary Golf Club in Waverly, Ga.

The Roadrunners will host The Invite at Innisbrook once again on September 26 & 27 at Innisbrook Resort in Palm Harbor, Fla. The men will take on the famed Copperhead Course which is home to the Valspar Championship, a yearly event on the PGA Tour.

Next is an event that Dalton State traditionally plays very well at, the Bojangles Tennessee Intercollegiate in Vonore, Tenn. DS has 5 wins and a runner-up finish in their 6 appearances in the event.

To finish the Fall, the team will travel to a new destination to play the AAC Fall Preview. The tournament moves from Barnsley Gardens in Cartersville to Cross Creek Plantation in Seneca, S.C.

"We have a lot of returning pieces with a group of hungry players to continue what has been started," added Rickett. "They still have the sour taste from nationals lingering which is a good motivator! It's a long season and the goal is to get better every day."

The Spring portion of the schedule will be released later in the Fall.
