Solid Round Three Puts Roadrunners In Prime Position For Final Round

Silvis, Ill. – #8-ranked Dalton State shot the second-best round of the day on Thursday, a 285 (+1), but fell back to 2nd behind #1 Keiser (Fla.) after the 3rd Round of the NAIA Men's Golf National Championship at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill.
 
#1 Keiser (Fla.) shot 3-under 281 to leapfrog the Birds and take a two-shot lead at 843 (-9) heading into the final round. #8 Dalton State sits at 845 (-7). Both of those squads distanced themselves from the rest of the field as #14 Bellevue (Neb.) moved up to 3rd but is 12 shots back of the Roadrunners at 857 (+5).
 
#11 Point (Ga.) is 4th at 858 (+6) with #5 Ottawa (Ariz.) rounding out the top-5 at 860 (+8).

RECAP
Steve Kibare led the way for the Roadrunners with a 2-under 69. Kibare sat at 3-over thru No. 11, but subsequently went 5-under on his next 7 holes with 3 birdies and an eagle to close out the round.
 
Tyler White posted a 1-under 71 that started with a solid front 9. Trevor Bassett carded an even-par 71 on a round that included a hole-out from the fairway on No. 14.
 
The last counter went to Matthew Cleary who had an up-and-down day with a 4-over 75. Cole Wentworth was on his heels with a 5-over 76 on the afternoon. Cleary, Kibare, and Bassett are tied for 8th, 10th, and 12th respectively, while White is tied for 30th and Wentworth tied for 69th.
 
UP NEXT
#8 Dalton State will be in the lead group again tomorrow, May 20 with #1 Keiser (Fla.) and #14 Bellevue (Neb.) for the final round of the NAIA Men's Golf National Championship at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill. The trio will be the final groupings off No. 1.
