#1 Roadrunners Clinch SSAC Regular Season Championship With Win Over Brewton-Parker


MOUNT VERNON, Ga. – #1 Dalton State clinched their 2nd SSAC regular season title and clinched the #1-seed in the upcoming SSAC Tournament with a 1-0 win over Brewton-Parker (Ga.) in the regular season for both squads in Mount Vernon on Saturday afternoon.

  • (1-0 DS) DS: Josh Ramos finally got the Roadrunners on the board in the 71' with the only goal of the match, while Noah Cicoria picked up the assist.
THE REST OF THE STORY
#1 Dalton State (Ga.) improves (14-0-3 overall, 7-0-1 SSAC) with the win, while Brewton-Parker (Ga.) falls to (2-11-2 overall, 2-5-1 SSAC) with the loss. Josh Ramos netted goal #6 on the season and Noah Cicoria collected his 2nd assist. It is another shutout for the Roadrunners, their 6th straight to end the year.
 
DS held the shot advantage by a wide margin, 19-3. Interestingly, shots on goal was a tie at 3-3. Corner kicks in the match were 19-0 in favor of Dalton State.

UP NEXT
It will be a 1st round bye for the #1 Birds in the SSAC Tournament. They will be back on the pitch on Wednesday, November 9 at 4:30 p.m. (CT) for the semifinal rounds at Emory Folmar YMCA Complex in Montgomery, Ala. They will play the winner of 4-seed #17 Life (Ga.) and #5-seed Blue Mountain (Miss.).
