#3 Roadrunners Stay Undefeated With Strong Defensive Showing Against #18 Life


DALTON, Ga. – It was another ranked win for #3 Dalton State as they converted an early goal and held on for a 1-0 win over #18 Life (Ga.) at Lupo Family Field in Marietta on Saturday afternoon.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
FIRST HALF
  • (1-0 DS) DS: Rasmus Andersson took advantage of a free kick after a foul and nailed it from 25 yards out in the 6'.
SECOND HALF

THE REST OF THE STORY
#3 Dalton State (Ga.) improves (10-0-3 overall, 3-0-1 SSAC) with the win, while #18 Life (Ga.) falls to (8-2-1 overall, 2-2-1) with the loss. Rasmus Andersson nets his 2nd goal of the season which ended up being the only goal of the match. Michael Baruetta was relatively untested in goal thanks in part to the stellar Dalton State defense but got a clean sheet with 1 save.
 
Shots were tied at 6 each with DS holding the advantage on goal at 3-1. It was another physical match with 39 total fouls and 6 yellow cards. Corner kicks were to the advantage of the Roadrunners at a 5-0 clip

A mid-week conference clash is on tap next for the #3 Birds as they take on Blue Mountain (Miss.) on Wednesday, October 19. Kickoff at Dalton Stadium is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
