Dalton State Plays To A Scoreless Draw With Faulkner


DALTON, Ga. – An even match between Dalton State and Faulkner drew a 0-0 tie between the two clubs in SSAC women's soccer action at Dalton Stadium in Dalton on Sunday afternoon

Dalton State (Ga.) goes to (2-4-4 overall, 0-2-2 SSAC) on the season with the tie, while Faulkner (Ala.) sits at (7-3-2 overall, 2-1-1 SSAC) with the draw. Brooke Alvarez was stellar stopping 7 shots on target to preserve the tie. Her counterpart in net, Keila Carderio was just as good stopping all six DS shots on frame.
 
The shot count stood at 13-12 in favor of the Eagles as they also held the shots on goal advantage at 7-6. Brianna Hurtado had two long free kicks that came close to goals with one going just over the crossbar and the other hitting it and falling down in front of goal.

UP NEXT
It will be another road test for the Lady Birds as they travel to new conference member Life (Ga.) on October 15. Kickoff in Marietta is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
