Lady Roadrunners Lose Tight Game To Thomas


THOMASVILLE, Ga. – In an equally matched tussle, Thomas (Ga.) got a goal before halftime and held off a hard charging Dalton State squad 1-0 in non-conference soccer action at TU Soccer Complex in Thomasville on Saturday afternoon.

FIRST HALF
  • (1-0 TU) TU: Taylor Hults found the back of the net after a penalty shot was awarded following a foul in the box.
SECOND HALF

THE REST OF THE STORY
Dalton State (Ga.) falls to 4-4 overall (1-0 SSAC) with the loss, while Thomas (Ga.) improves to 2-1 overall with the win. Brooke Alvarez was challenged in net and came away with 4 saves in the contest. She was bested on the penalty kick goal from Taylor Hults of Thomas.
 
BY THE NUMBERS
Both teams got off 12 shots with the Lady Roadrunners holding the edge in shots on goal at 8-6. Emily Lamoreaux was equally as good as Brooke Alvarez in goal as she collected 7 saves and kept the Lady Birds off the scoreboard.

Dalton State will be back on the pitch at Lakeshore Park on Saturday, February 27 when they host Faulkner (Ala.). Kickoff is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
