High Scoring Bethel (Tenn.) Comes To Dalton On Thursday

DALTON, Ga. – Dalton State continues the 2018-19 season with a three-game SSAC home stand beginning Thursday with a matchup with #20 Bethel (Tenn.) at Mashburn Arena.
 
Dalton State (Ga.) (13-10, 8-7 SSAC), in its first season under interim head coach Alex Ireland, is coming off a loss to Middle Georgia State (75-71) on February 2. The Roadrunners have seven regular season games remaining on the schedule and need to reel off a solid winning streak to end the season if they hope to return to the NAIA Tournament in Kansas City, Mo. Key conference matchups down the stretch that include Thursday's game with Bethel will go a long way should the Roadrunners get the W.
 
Bethel (Tenn.) (19-5, 13-3 SSAC), in its 19th season under head coach Jeff Britt, comes to Dalton ranked #20 in the country. They have won seven-straight games since losing to Stillman (Ala.) (90-75) on January 17. The Wildcats play sound basketball averaging 90.92 points per game, while only giving up 78.44. All five losses for Bethel have come when they allowed more than their season average defensively. Overall, they are 8-5 in such contest.
