Tough Defense Not Enought As Lady Roadrunners Drop Match To Bethel (Tenn.)


DALTON, Ga. – The Dalton State Women's Soccer team dropped their third straight match with a 2-0 loss to visiting (RV) Bethel (Tenn.) in SSAC action at Lakeshore Park Soccer Complex on Thursday evening.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • (BU 1-0): Jodi Butler put one home with an assist from Danijela Kolaric in the 38' to give the Lady Wildcats a one-goal advantage.
  • (BU 2-0): Elvira Martin found Janine Dennis for a goal in the 82' to put the match out of reach for the Lady Roadrunners.

THE REST OF THE STORY
Dalton State (Ga.) falls to (6-8 overall, 2-4 SSAC) with the loss, while (RV) Bethel (Tenn.) improves to (10-4-1 overall, 5-2 SSAC) with the win. In a defensive slugfest, the Lady Wildcats made their shots matter. The shot count ended in favor of Bethel 6-3 with the Lady Wildcats also holding the edge in shots on goal at 3-1. Each goalkeeper recorded one save on the day.
 
UP NEXT
Dalton State will welcome another tough opponent to Lakeshore Park for Senior Day on Saturday, November 2 when they host #10 Martin Methodist (Tenn.). Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
