Blue Mountian Takes Down #11 Dalton State

BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. - #11 Dalton State suffered it's second straight setback, this time at the the hands of Blue Mountain (Miss.), 94-83, at Tyler Gymnasium in Blue Mountain, Miss. on Saturday evening.

THE FIRST HALF
The Roadrunners would jump out to a quick 5-0 lead after an Isaiah Box three off a Jaylon Bardley turnover. The lead would be short lived as a 15-2 Blue Mountain run would give them the lead at 15-7 with 14:50 remaining in the half.

Dalton State would claw back, tying the game at 21-21 at the mid-way point of the half after a Reed Dungan three. Both teams would trade baskets before a 16-4 Topper run stretched out their lead out 12 points with 4:50 to go. The Roadrunners though would close the half on a 14-4 run of their own to whittle to deficit down to four, 41-37, heading into the break.

THE SECOND HALF
Dalton State would try to climb back into the game, but miraculous shooting from behind the arc from Blue Mountain would stave off the Roadrunner attack. The Toppers would maintain a steady lead throughout the half, never letting the lead get below five.

With 3:13 remaining Reed Dungan would hit a three to close the gap to two, but the Roadrunners would struggle to gain the lead. They would cut it to two again with 1:21 left, but a Jaylon Bardley three on the next possession would see the lead extend to five. Free throws and missed baskets down the stretch would see the lead end at 11 as Blue Mountain would claim the victory, 94-83.
