#18 Dalton State Battles Tough For Win Over Blue Mountain

DALTON, Ga. - #18-ranked Dalton State showed resiliency in a 74-65 win against Blue Mountain (Miss.) at Mashburn Arena on Tuesday night.

THE FIRST HALF
From the opening tip, the Roadrunners were looking to blow the top of this half, and that's exactly what they did by jumping out to a 7-2 lead.

Dalton State knew they must control the tempo in tonight's game and they did, holding the Toppers to a menial 30% shooting in the half and were plus 10 on the glass. Dalton State continued to run away, taking a 42-27 lead at half.

THE SECOND HALF
The Toppers would fight back and cut the lead to four points in the second half, 66-62, but the Roadrunners would show great resiliency down the stretch and execute plays that would win them the game, 74-65.

Carnilious Simmons and Reed Dungan contributed big factors in tonight's win with clutch rebounds and free-throws.
