Roadrunners Score Early, Win At St. Andrews

LAURINBURG, N.C. - The Dalton State Women's Soccer team got an early goal from Keyle Snyder and played tough defense throughout to hang on for a 1-0 road victory at St. Andrew's College in Laurinburn, N.C. on Wednesday.

THE FIRST HALF
The Lady Roadrunners came out on the attack early. Keyle Snyder pushed the offense, having a shot go just wide in the 4'. She would get redemption in the 11' when she found the back of the net for the first goal of the game and a 1-0 Roadrunner lead. The Knights would have three great scoring opportunities to end the half, but all three times they would be denied and the score would remain 1-0 at the break.

THE SECOND HALF
The Knights came out on the attack to start the second period of play, but two great saves by senior netminder Rachel Hardin would stall the St. Andrew's attack. The Lady Roadrunners would have several opportunities to extend the lead, but could not convert. Dalton State would hold St. Andrew's at bay the rest of the match and hold on for the 1-0 win.

THE REST OF THE STORY
Dalton State improves to 4-1-1 overall on the season, while St. Andrews drops to 0-4 on the season. Keyle Snyder collected her sixth goal of the season to tie Adriana Romera for the team lead. Rachel Hardin had another impressive day in goal, saving three shots and preserving the shutout.
