DALTON, Ga. – The #4-ranked Roadrunners continue their series of home games at Bandy Gymnasium against Mobile (Ala.) tonight. Tip-Off is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
DALTON STATE
The Roadrunners come into the game with a record of 19-1 overall, 11-1 in the Southern States Athletic Conference and are riding a 14 game winning streak. Dalton State is coming off a close 77-74 win over Loyola (La.) on February 2. Mike Harden was on fire as he led the Roadrunners going 12-16 from the free throw line, scoring 24 points. Isaiah Box followed with three bombs from three to put up 16 points. Carnilious Simmons and Sayvon Wilson each had 7 rebounds to go along with 10 points respectfully.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
MOBILE
The Rams come into the game 8-13 overall, 4-8 in the SSAC, and are coming off a tough 59-45 loss against Middle Georgia State on February 2. The Rams outscored their opponents in the first half 33-22, but a defensive surge by the Knights in the second half would keep Mobile to only 12 points and allow for a Knights comeback. Lawrence Pierce led the team with 14 points and 8 rebounds. Darius Curry followed with 11 points and 6 rebounds. Despite a low scoring game, the Rams have shown that they can create close games when they are clicking.
A LOOK BACK
Earlier in the season the Roadrunners defeated the Rams on the road convincingly, 83-59. Both teams were dead even in the paint with 34 points, but Dalton State seized the momentum on turnovers with 24 points compared to Mobile's 8 points. The Roadrunners were on fire with five players in double-figures. The Rams defense will look to switch the stats against the Roadrunners to gain a needed edge in the game. Â
