#17 Crusaders vs #5 Roadrunners Today In The NAIA Network Game Of The Week

DALTON, Ga. - The #5 Dalton State Roadrunners will host #17 William Carey Crusaders in the NAIA Network Game of the Week today at Mashburn Arena.  Tip-Off is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.

DALTON STATE
The 5th-ranked Roadrunners got back on track Thursday with an 81-72 victory over Middle Georgia State, pushing their record to 21-3 overall and 13-3 in the SSAC. They look to shift that momentum to today when the 17th-ranked team in the land pays a visit to Mashburn Arena.  Mike Harden got the start in the backcourt along with Reed Dungan and the duo impressed.  Harden scored 20 to lead the Roadrunners, while Dungan locked down on defense as Dalton State held Middle Georgia to 36% from the field.  William Carey has guards that can score in bunches so defense will be the key today.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
WILLIAM CAREY

The 17th-ranked Crusaders will depend on Leo Garrett.  Garrett averages 16.5 ppg and can score from anywhere on the court.  His best game is penetrating and finishing at the bucket.  The Roadrunners will have to keep him on the perimeter and make him pass the ball.  Terrance Mujahid can be pesky down low.  He averages 7.5 rebounds per game, but can come up big in important games.  If the Roadrunners stop Garrett, they can not sleep on Ashton Woodson or Troy Salvant.  Woodson was on fire in the first half the last time these two teams met, scoring 12 early points on 4 three's.  Salvant can shoot and slash with the best of them.  The Roadrunners will have to play tight perimeter defense if they want to win today.
