#13 Roadrunners Fall To Red Hawks

PULASKI, Tenn. - #13-ranked Dalton State comes up short in their third conference game of the season against Martin Methodist (Tenn.) with the final score of 65-64 at Curry Christian Life Center in Pulaski, Tenn. on Saturday.

THE FIRST HALF
To start the game, the Roadrunners jumped out a quick lead on the back of a 9-0 run in the first three minutes of the game. The run was quickly halted by Red Hawks by hitting their first basket of the game which made the score 9-3. It seemed to calm their nerves and help them fight back to make the score 14-10.

From that point on the game would be very chippy and the score would stay in the range of a five point deficit, until the Roadrunners would get a heavy dosage of free-throw attempts and easy buckets to give them a 31-20 lead to get out of the ugly half against the winless Red Hawks. Dalton State would shoot just 34% from the floor in the first half.

THE SECOND HALF
The Roadrunners shooting woes would continue to haunt them at the beginning of the second half, but their team defense would help them maintain a comfortable 13 point lead at 41-28. The Red Hawks offense would finally get into a rhythm going on an 11-3 run, making the score 44-39.

The shooting woes of the Roadrunners would finally catch up to them down the stretch with the Martin Methodist offense outscoring them by 12 points to claim a 65-64 victory.
