#6 Roadrunners Score Triple Digits In Big Win


DALTON, Ga. - #6-ranked Dalton State broke the scoreboard, scoring triple-digits in a 107-87 win over Voorhees College (S.C.) at Mashburn Arena on Wednesday night.

THE FIRST HALF
The Roadrunners came out very aggressive, sparking off to an 11-2 lead in the first minute of the game. Voorhees College would halt the run and fight back to make the score 11-7. The half from there on out would be close with both teams battling for baskets. The Tigers would cut the lead to one point with 4:00 left, but Isiah Box would make a lay-up at the end of the half as the Roadrunners entered the break up 39-34. 

THE SECOND HALF
To start the second half, Dalton State would quickly extend the lead to 50-36. The Tigers would again claw their way back, cutting the lead to 56-54 with 13:05 remaining. The Roadrunners would retaliate by lighting it up from behind the 3-point line, sparked by Isaiah Box to go up by 20 with 8 minutes left in the second half.

With the Roadrunners going up by a large margin, the Tigers showed their frustration by receiving 3 technical fouls. The Roadrunners would put the game out of reach, maintaining the lead down the stretch for a 107-87 win.  
  
THE REST OF THE STORY
Dalton State improves to (2-1 overall), while Voorhees College drops to (5-1 overall, 1-0 Division II Independents) with the loss. Senior Isaiah Box led all scores with 31 points and six assist tonight. Reed Dungan added 24 points and went a perfect 7-7 from the charity stripe. Raheem England and Ty Pendley both had 12 points and a combined 6 rebounds.

Javari Albergottie led the Tigers with 18 points. DJ Evans and Ashton Pierce added 15 and 10 points respectively. Dalton State out rebounded Voorhees 45-27. Dalton State forced 29 turnovers and converted those into 39 points in the win.

UP NEXT
The #6-ranked Roadrunners will play Talladega (Ala.) away at the Life University Classic on Friday, November 17. Tip-Off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
