#6 Roadrunners Beat Carver By 21


DALTON, Ga. - #6-ranked Dalton State controlled the game from start to finish in a 92-71 win over Carver College at the Running Eagle Classic at The Eagles Nest in Marietta, Ga. on Saturday.

THE FIRST HALF
Dalton State jumped out quick, scoring the first nine points of the contest. It would be a sign of things to come as the Roadrunners never took their foot off the gas pedal. They would gradually extend the lead throughout the half, taking a 20 point advantage into the half at 47-27.

THE SECOND HALF
The second half would be much of the same, with Dalton State commanding the game. Carver would mount an attack and cut the lead to 12 with 15:28 remaining, but the Roadrunners quickly extended the margin. Dalton State would lead by as much as 24 points in the second half, cruising down the stretch for the 92-71 victory.

THE REST OF THE STORY
#6 Dalton State improves to (4-1 overall) on the young season. The Roadrunners were once again led in scoring by Reed Dungan with 22 points. Dungan also added three assist. Freshman Aaron Burress had another impressive game with 16 points and five rebounds. Sean Chislom continued to be a force in the middle, adding 14 points and seven boards.

Raheem England was the fourth Roadrunner in double-figures with 10 points and five rebounds, while Isaiah Box dished out seven assists to go along with seven points.

Carver was led on the evening by Saveyon Edwards and Chris Deny with 18 points each. Chris Iverson added 11 points in the losing effort.

UP NEXT
The #6 Roadrunners will make the short trip back to Marietta on Tuesday, November 21 for a nationally ranked matchup with #9 Life University. Tip-Off from the Eagles Nest will be 7:00 p.m.
