HATTIESBURG, Miss. - #15 Dalton State dropped its second match of the year on Thursday, losing to #1-ranked William Carey 2-1 at Crusader Field in Hattiesburg, Miss.

THE FIRST HALF
The #15-ranked Roadrunners would get on the board first off the boot of Santiago Moore. Moore beat All-Conference goalkeeper Grant Adam in the 18' off a penalty kick to give the Roadrunners the 1-0 lead. The Birds would hold the lead for the next 21' minutes of play when Joaquin Ruiz Cabello put it past Samuel Fraire to tie the game at 1-1. The score would remain tied as the teams headed for halftime.

THE SECOND HALF
The top ranked Crusaders would get on the board quickly in the second half, notching a goal seven minutes in to take a 2-1 lead. Both teams would have opportunities but each time they would come up short. Defense would take over the rest of the way as the Crusaders held on for the 2-1 win.

THE REST OF THE STORY
#15 Dalton State drops to (7-2 overall, 0-1 SSAC), while #1 William Carey improves to (8-0 overall, 1-0 SSAC). QUOTES FROM COACH
"They (William Carey) are very physical and tough to play against," said DS coach Kerem Daser. "I felt they were the best team in the first half. We out shot them in the second half and had some good looks, but couldn't score. I felt we were better in the second half. Now we need to turn our focus to Mobile on Saturday."

UP NEXT
The #15 Roadrunners will continue their toughest stretch of games on the season when they face #8 Mobile (Ala.) on Saturday, October 7. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. (CDT).
