#9 Roadrunners vs. #18 Crusaders Tonight In Hattiesburg

DALTON, Ga. - The 9^th-ranked Dalton State basketball team continues their three game road trip, traveling to Hattiesburg, MS for a date with #18 William Carey at Clinton Gym. Tip-Off is scheduled for 5:00p.m. (EST).

The #9 Roadrunners continue to play great team basketball. In their last game on January 12, an 82-65 win over Middle Georgia State, Carnilious Simmons led the way with 22 points and 9 rebounds. Reed Dungan provided the spark off the bench with 16 points. The Dalton State defense was disruptive holding Middle Georgia star Kieston Stanfield to 14 points. Tonight it will be the backcourt who will be challenged, and that challenge is Leo Garrett. Garrett, a 6-2 guard from Brookhaven, MS is averaging 17.4 ppg and can be lethal from three if left open.

WILLIAM CAREY
The #18 Crusaders come into the matchup 11-3 overall, 5-1 in the Southern States Athletic Conference. They are led on offense by the aforementioned Leo Garrett (17.4 ppg). Garrett also leads the team in steals and shoots 89% from the charity stripe. William Carey boast three other players that score in double-figures, Tony Salvant (11.9), Jaylen Moore (10.8), and Ashton Woodson (10.7). All of the Crusaders leading scorers are guards. The Crusaders are also ranked in the top 15 in six statistical categories nationally, included in that total is being #1 in the country in offensive rebounding averaging 15.3 per game.
