The No. 5 ranked Dalton State men's tennis team (11-4 overall, 7-1 SSAC) shut-out visiting Brewton-Parker 9-0 Friday afternoon in the first ever intercollegiate match at the school's on campus courts.
"It's great anytime you can come out and get a 9-0 win," said Coach Zack Rogers. "I am really happy with the way the guys played today. It's great to get a match in on campus. We'd love to have a bigger presence on campus."
Rogers shifted the line-up some against the first year Brewton-Parker tennis team. "We maintained focus. I was able to get a couple of guys in who haven't played in a while. Juan Pablo hasn't played since his freshman year. To see him get a 6-20, 6-0 win was great. I hope we will carry the momentum into our match Monday against Warner (FL.), ranked 21st in the country, and continue to work toward the national tournament and the conference tournament."
Brewton-Parker has just five players.
