Brunswick, Ga. – The NAIA No. 8 ranked Dalton State men's tennis team knocked off the 5
th ranked Mariners Friday afternoon at the Marta Torrey Tennis Courts on the Coastal Georgia campus.
The Roadrunners started by winning two of the doubles lines and continued with victories in four of six singles. "I was a great win for the guys," said Coach Zack Rogers. "I have a lot of respect for Coastal Georgia. They fought hard, but we were able to set the tone early in the doubles and that really set the stage for our singles play. I was really proud of Seb (Dartnell). He came back from 2-4 down in the second set and reeled of four straight games to earn the fifth and deciding point. Overall it was just a great day and week for our program."Â

With the win, Dalton State swept the week against two NAIA Top 25 teams from the SSAC. The Roadrunners had swept No. 24 Middle Georgia State, 9-0, in Cochran on Wednesday.
Dalton State's men's and women's tennis teams will host the University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) at Lakeshore Park Tennis Center on Tuesday (March 15
th) at 2:00 p.m. EDT.
